KGM was started by Gene and Ann Dahmes in 2025 as a Christian ministry for teaching biblical truth.

Gene has been teaching the Foundations series for ten years. There was an interest to expand this ministry and a desire to be able to support it as a nonprofit. Thus, Knowing God Ministries was established.

Gene and Ann are members of LivingWaters Church in the Lakeville, Minnesota area. Both have served in LWC for many years. The couple has been in ministry for over 40 years.

Gene was a pastor for 20 years. Beyond vocational ministry, he has served as a teaching elder for 15 years.

Gene and Ann both came to saving faith in Christ as seniors in high school while they were dating. Upon graduation, Gene enrolled in Bible College while Ann went to nursing school. They were married, continued to grow in their faith, and began to engage in ministry.

As they grew in discipleship, they decided to join a Baptist church. This was a great change for them since neither grew up as Baptists. This has been their conviction and practice ever since.

Gene attended both Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, from which he graduated.

Gene’s teaching is biblically based. He works from the original languages of the Scriptures to provide teaching that has an understanding of what the Scriptures mean. He observes a literal, historical, and grammatical interpretation of the Scriptures.

He also provides personal application of the Scriptures in his teaching. It is not enough to know what the text says; we must also be able to apply the meaning of God’s revelation to our lives.

The passion of Gene’s ministry is to help others better understand the Bible so they will better understand the faith.
